About
the Barn
Inspired
during a bike trip through rural Vermont, owners Luca and Kathy
Gianturco designed their timber frame barn using massive white
pine beams from Maine and recycled Oak trees, which came from the
property where the barn sits.
The beam
connections were made using wooden pegs, just as New England and
European barns were constructed many years ago.
The barn
is 12,000 square feet and the ceiling soars to 50' at the cupola.
The frame was raised with the help of two timber framers from
Vermont.
The Barn is now
referred to as the Gift Barn since it houses a selection of
gardening and related gifts as well as seeds, pots and tools.
Workshops, lectures and other events
are held here and the Barn houses Bella Luna, the cafe
recently opened at Scottsdale.
