Drought tolerant plants help us weather the season

You can have color and interest in your garden by choosing plants that do not require as much water.  No plants live without water, but many tolerate less water.

The main thing you can do is plant well.  Whether you plant yourself, or have the professionals at Scottsdale do your planting, this step is the most important in insuring your plants success.

Tips for Planting

All plants need to be well-planted to insure their success.

When planting containerized plants, be sure to loosen the roots which enables them to spread into the surrounding soil.

Dig a wide hole, deep enough to hold the root ball, and loosen the soil at the bottom.

Back-fill with native soil and appropriate amendments, then tamp down to be sure roots are in contact with soil.

Water well after planting, then water again after a short while to be sure it is well hydrated.  Add 2-3 inches of mulch to retain moisture.
