Eat Your Veggies–Parent/Child: Grow Your Own Vegetables
Gardening gives children a chance to learn an important life skill, one that is overlooked in standard school curriculums. Gardening is also a great way to teach environmental awareness by exploring the workings of nature. Join us for a wonderful hands-on workshop where your little one will be planting their own vegetables. They'll play, learn, and discover how seeds becomes edible plants. Get kids growing in the garden by starting them on planting their own strawberries. You'll find most kids enjoy helping in the garden--they're allowed to get dirty, they get some good exercise, actually learn and understand (firsthand) where their food comes from, and they'll gain a good sense of nurture, nature and responsibility within the process.
