Our Farm in Big Canoe

It's the end of another wonderful Spring at Scottsdale Farms and we'd like to thank each of you for making it special.

Many of you have asked about our farm up in Big Canoe, and we're going to tell you a bit about it.

Nestled in the foothills of the North Georgia Mountains is where many of our plants are grown. It's a lovely place, full of wide open spaces, critters, and hardly any people. We don't have a retail center, nor do we offer tours or visits. We spend our days busily growing trees and shrubs to bring to our store located in Milton.

Many of you are familiar with Jake, our store mascot. Well, the farm has Tulip, she makes sure everybody follows the rules and is a loving addition to our farm family.

It's about Insects and Fertilizer now

You've worked hard all spring, digging, planting and mulching! Your efforts have paid off and everything looks, GREAT!!

Get, ready! The annual battle against bugs is about to begin. With the warmer weather, it seems that we are overrun with insects biting and chewing all of our lovely plants.

Start fighting back now, healthy plants seem to ward off a number of pests, and fertilizer is like a vitamin to them. Japanese beetles start showing up at the end of June, apply a systemic now to keep them away. Our gardens are susceptible too, and we have a number of Organic and Natural solutions to fix any problem.

Focus on Containers

Imagination & Inspiration!

All it takes is a little imagination and inspiration and you can create a container that you'll enjoy all season long!

We have a number of containers that you can use as idea starters, let your creativity flow. Our greenhouse is stuffed full of annuals, tropicals, ferns, and vines. We've got every color imaginable, waiting to be combined.

If you get stuck, our staff will assist you, we'll even look over your combinations to make sure that they're right. We'll advise you on watering, fertilizing, deadheading and more.
